NOTE: Criterion Referenced Testing:
Towards the end of each school year, usually in May, Criterion Referenced Tests are administered to our Lower 4 and Upper 2 students, as required by the Ministry of Education. There are four papers - English Grammar, English Comprehension, Mathematics Paper 1 and Mathematics Paper 2. Testing starts on a Monday and finishes on a Thursday, with one paper completed each day. A few practice papers are done with the Lower 4 class prior to the Tests so that the children are comfortable with the format and with formal testing procedures.
Criterion Referenced Tests are purely diagnostic. The tests are marked by the class teachers and results are tabulated and sent to the Ministry. In September, the next school year, analysis sheets for each child are received from the Ministry of Education. These results are given to that year's class teachers i.e. Upper 1 and Upper 3. The teachers are asked to review them and to spend extra time going over general areas of weakness with the class and also to recognize individual's problem areas and to help as much as possible to improve on these areas.
Both Schools - SA and SU.
